The Argentinian, Brazilian and Chilean chapters of the Marie Curie Alumni Association – MCAA, supported by the European Commission initiative EURAXESS LAC, were responsible for organizing the II Latin America MCAA Conference held online from 15 to 19 March 2021. The event featured speakers from Europe and Latin America in a rich programme, still available at mcaabrazil.org/latam21
Since the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) are the main European funding programme to support researchers' training and mobility. It funds researchers of any nationality, at all stages of their careers, and in all research areas. This event was a unique opportunity for the local MSCA alumni and the Early-Stage Researches to increase awareness of the EU funding programme and discuss topics relevant to both the European Research Area and the Latin American research community.
I had the remarkable opportunity to make one pitch talk at II Latin America MCAA Conference (Fig. 1). This pitch talk was an excellent way to disseminate the SCENT project to researchers from Latin America spread worldwide, speaking about my Secondments and Research Progress in COVID times.
Furthermore, it was memorable to increase networking, even if online, with researchers neighboring my homeland. Sharing words and phrases in Portuguese and Castellano was highly breathtaking, in addition to all the discussions and presentations made in English. Even we could witness some conversations about the challenges with the German language, which reminded me of my challenges with the Polish language.
