Lok Choon Long (Marshall) was born in Malaysia, where he grew up and received his Bachelor`s Degree in Electrical (Telecom) Engineering from the University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia in 2011. Later, he obtained a Master of Science (Physics) in 2017 from the University of Malaya.
After first graduation, he worked as an assistant electrical test engineer in one of the local switchgear manufacturer company. Then, an electrical maintenance engineer which he was in charge for facilities maintenance & engineering management in a conglomerate company in Malaysia.
After serving in private industries for 3 years, he became a research engineer under the Science Faculty at the University of Malaya. During that time, he involved in permanent magnet generator analysis, design and optimization. He has worked there 2.5 years and finally obtained his Master of Science. Upon completion, He worked in a multinational solar company for 3 years as a senior electrical engineer, then an assistant manager and eventually a site project manager.
He currently holds two competencies: Certified Grid-Connected Photovoltaic (GCPV) and Registered Electrical Energy Manager (REEM). In August 2019, he started his Philosophy of Doctorate (PhD) at the University of Zielona Gora (Poland) offered under the Marie Curie SCENT project grant.
